Cara Knott was a young lady that was pulled over by a veteran CHP officer in San Diego, forced to drive down a secluded road and was murdered by the CHP officer.
Cara’s father Sam worked diligently for victim’s rights and passed away recently near the spot where Cara was murdered and a small park had been constructed to honor the victims of violence.
The founder of It's For The Kids did not live here at the time so do not know all the details. There were 2 trials, the first one ended up in a hung jury. The current San Diego DA, Paul Pfingst, prosecuted during the second trial and got a conviction. Paul Pfingst used this case to launch himself into the election for DA. Since then, Paul Pfingst has completely forgotten how he started and has never since prosecuted another cop for anything. This act by this CHP officer is the ultimate police misconduct. We will provide further links and information as time goes on. Experience says that this CHP officer probably had warning signs that were ignored and probably a history of the little lies in court and on reports to build up his confidence to the point that he thought he could get away with murder.
The founder visits this little park in San Diego dedicated to victims when daylight and work allow. It is called Oak park and is very difficult to find. Just east of Interstate 15 at Mercy Road exit is a little road heading north. The road goes down a little hill, you will know the place when you get there, maybe we will meet at this place some day.
