Some definitions, serious and otherwise
LIBERAL - Someone who has just been arrested
CONSERVATIVE - Someone who has just been robbed.
PINSTRIPE WALL OF SILENCE - - A term coined here to describe the dark inner workings of the office of the district attorney. Very similar to the Blue Wall of Silence, but typically more onerous because there appears to be absolutely no civilian control over the DA.
PREVENTIVE PROSECUTION - - A term coined here to describe the practice on the part of police/prosecutor to frame a person for crimes that did not occur in efforts to stop a civil rights lawsuit.
BLACK WALL OF SILENCE - A term coined here to describe the tendency for judges and commissioners to protect their own even where evidence of misconduct exists.
BLUE WALL OF SILENCE - The function of law enforcement, either sanctioned by the department or not, that prevents access to any information within the department and protects criminal cops.
factum clarum, jus nebulosum - "The clearer the facts, the more muddled the law."
