Elected Representatives
Fact
They are supposed to be fighting for your best interests as a citizen.
Real World
Yea, ok. More on this to come. Just look at how well the California Legislators have looked after the citizens' interest relating to the electricity situation. The vast majority of "Elected representatives" have as their main priority getting elected so pandering to the $$$ is on the top of the priority list, the interests of the citizens falls way down the list.
See the Attorney General segment of this site for a description of the "Blue book", it is a synopsis of criminal misconduct engaged in by the San Diego Sheriff's Department and San Diego District Attorney. The "Blue book" has been sent to ALL my elected representatives and a number of media representatives. Responses follow.
California State Senator Bill Morrow - refused to respond to multiple deliveries of the "Blue book".
Assemblyman Howard Kaloogian instigated the only response from the California Attorney General, unfortunately Mr. Kaloogian was term-limited out.
Assemblyman Mark Wyland was initially interested, then refused to communicate.
State Senate and Assembly chairmen of the Public Safety and Judicial committees refused to respond.
Senator Dianne Feinstein refused to respond.
Senator Barbara Boxer and Congressman Randy Cunningham forwarded the "Blue book" to the U.S. Department of Justice, who wrote back acknowledging that this was the type of activity the Civil Rights Division was responsible for dealing with, then sent back all material and refused to act.
A bit of general advice: Do not bother to email politicians unless you have already established that as a reliable mode of communication with the individual. We see many reports lately that email is not even read. It is much better to pop the 34 cents and write a letter, it will be read. Priority Mail at $3.50 is a fairly good deal and add $0.34 to get a delivery confirmation which you can track on your computer via the USPS web site.
